DKSH in Vietnam

The history of DKSH Vietnam dates back to 1890, when we began business activities in Saigon and Haiphong. For the next 60 years we were active in importing consumer and pharmaceutical products, and also representing shipping lines and insurance companies. We withdrew from the North in 1954 and from Saigon in 1955.

DKSH re-entered Vietnam in 1991, over 100 years after our initial entry. Attracted by the government's “open door” policy in the early 1990s, we obtained an operating license for Diethelm Vietnam Co., Ltd. as a fully foreign-owned investment enterprise providing sales, marketing and logistics services.

Since then, the business of DKSH Vietnam has rapidly evolved, driven by dynamic organic growth, the integration of new businesses, and continuous investment. The most recent investments have been:

• Doubled capacity of our main distribution center
• Significant advances in IT, including the roll-out of SAP integrated software for sales and distribution, materials management, warehouse management systems, finance and controlling. We also introduced an Electronic Territory Management system for the sales team, and a Proof of Delivery system for the delivery team.

Diethelm Vietnam Co., Ltd. is now known as DKSH Vietnam Co., Ltd.
